03 The math behind the number
RTP means return to player: the theoretical share of total stakes a game returns as prizes over a very large number of rounds.
A slot with 98% RTP has a theoretical house edge of 2%. If total stakes reach 1,000 credits, the expected prize total is 980 credits. That calculation describes an average across outcomes.
A deposit and total stakes are different amounts. If you deposit 100 credits, then reuse prizes to make 500 one-credit spins, your total stakes are 500 credits. That is the amount used in an RTP calculation.
Your observed return is total prizes divided by total stakes, multiplied by 100. A short session can sit far above or below the published percentage.

Estimate the long-run expected return for a fixed amount of total stakes. Use the same unit throughout: credits, dollars, or pounds.
This calculation uses the RTP you enter. It does not predict a session balance or a chance of profit.
Same average. Different experience.
RTP describes expected return. Volatility describes how widely individual results can vary. A game can have a high RTP and still produce long stretches without a prize.
Citrus reels and Orbit reels both return 96% in their exact mathematical models. Citrus pays something on 73% of spins, including partial stake returns. Orbit pays something on 25.45% of spins, with a larger share of its return coming from occasional bigger prizes.
A prize can be smaller than the stake. Citrus produces a net profit on 18% of spins; Orbit does so on 10.45%. These are calculated probabilities for the original demos on this page.
Variance is a numerical measure of spread. Standard deviation is its square root. Provider labels such as low, medium, or high may use different scales, so the labels alone do not establish an exact comparison.

Compare the demosThe version matters
Start inside the exact game you intend to compare. A shared title or familiar artwork does not establish that two versions use the same return.
Look for Game rules, Help, Paytable, or an information icon. Find the stated return to player and any separate mode-specific figures.
Keep the full game title, provider, operator, jurisdiction, check date, and relevant mode together. Save the rule text if you are comparing configurations.
Use the rules of that version. An upper figure from a provider page needs its stated conditions. If the rules give no figure, ask the operator for the specification.
Search by developer
Wazdan publishes 96.99% for Win & Replay and labels its volatility Medium. This is one sourced example; a catalogue-wide maximum needs a complete comparison.
View the game specificationTo find the highest RTP Pragmatic Play slots available to you, collect the figures from the games' rules at your operator. Keep regular play and any separately described feature modes distinct.
Use the version checkCompare Playson titles by the RTP shown in each game's help panel. Record the version next to the number so a later change can be identified.
Check the exact gameStart with the full KA Gaming title and its rules. A provider name or a similar title alone does not identify a game's probability model.
Follow the same checksFind the relevant version
The table above records provider specifications. Use the following checks when your question names a specific casino or market.
Open the version offered by the UK operator and read its help panel. Record the RTP before comparing titles. The Gambling Commission distinguishes a game's designed theoretical return from its observed results over a measured period.
Read the Commission's definitionsFor the highest RTP slots on BetMGM, DraftKings, or FanDuel, compare the games available in your jurisdiction using their own rules. Record the operator and jurisdiction with every percentage. A provider's headline figure does not establish the configuration offered in that catalogue.
A Reddit thread can point you toward a title to investigate. Check its quoted percentage against the current in-game rules before using it in a comparison.
Check the title, play mode, currency, and applicable rules together. Use only percentages documented for that game configuration. The online slot examples above do not establish a top-ten list for Chumba.
A meaningful comparison needs the settings of specific installed machines. Nevada's public summaries report figures by categories such as market and denomination. Those aggregates do not identify the ten highest-RTP individual machines in Las Vegas.
For a particular machine, look for its rules and ask the casino what configuration information it can provide. Keep online game specifications separate from cabinet-specific evidence.

Among the sourced examples here, Book of 99 and Mega Joker publish 99%. Mega Joker has mode and bet-dependent rules to check. The list is a selected comparison; it does not establish a worldwide maximum or availability at your casino.
Yes. The provider pages for Book of 99 and Mega Joker publish 99%. A 99% theoretical return corresponds to a 1% theoretical house edge when the stated conditions apply.
Use a defined comparison set. This page offers 98% and 99% filters so you can choose a threshold explicitly. A higher percentage lowers the theoretical house edge when the compared figures use equivalent conditions.
The percentage alone cannot tell you how often a spin pays. Prize frequency and prize size both contribute to RTP. The original Citrus and Orbit demos show different prize frequencies at the same 96% RTP.
A title can be supplied or configured in more than one version. Read the RTP in the rules of the version you have opened, including any conditions for a particular mode. Keep that figure with the operator and check date.
The calculation uses total stakes. Reusing prizes creates additional stakes, so that amount can exceed a deposit. Individual results vary, and the published percentage does not promise a particular ending balance.
A short session shows only its observed results. Establishing theoretical RTP requires the game's probability model and payout rules. The local demo percentages are calculated from their complete outcome tables.
NetEnt uses an upper figure and describes a Supermeter mode. Keeping "up to" preserves that qualification. Check the game rules before treating the figure as applicable to every way of playing.
Citrus reels, Orbit reels, and Vault reels are original educational demos with virtual credits. Commercial game links open the provider's own page. Credits in the original demos cannot be bought, transferred, or redeemed.
04 The source notes
The comparison uses game-provider product pages and an identified provider launch release. Each row links to the evidence used. Source pages were reviewed on ; that date describes a source review, not a test of every operator's configuration.
Figures are shown with their published precision. An "up to" figure keeps that wording. Mode-specific conditions remain beside the number. Marching Legions uses the provider's July 2020 launch specification, clearly labeled as such.
The selection includes games with retrievable primary-source RTP evidence. It is not an exhaustive database. A current casino-specific entry would additionally need the operator, jurisdiction, version, game-rule evidence, and check date.
The original demo RTPs are calculated from their full weighted outcome tables. Their prize distributions and exact probabilities are available inside each demo. They have no connection to the commercial games listed above.
RTP slots is an informational guide to published game returns. It brings provider evidence and simple probability demonstrations into one place. The site does not accept bets or hold player funds.
